Nah, I’m with @brainfreeze. I go by how my digital library orders things, and altering artist’s names to e.g. Coltrane, John just looks silly and try-hard to me :smiley:

You don’t have to alter anything. Charles Dickens sits happily in the Ds in every bookshop and library in the world and John Coltrane is in the Cs in almost every record shop.

yeah, but my player isn’t clever enough to sort artists in the culturally accepted manner (it’s a piece of hardware with its own internal software, not iTunes or similar). Therefore, John Coltrane is a J not a C, and I’d rather have him under J than rename him as Coltrane, John.

As I’ve said before - computers are stupid, we can be better.
