It was the tagline to that Kisstory playlist I shared.

hi @laelfy i hope you’re well. see you mentioning a like of a glasgow thai tapas place and i think per pound, oxford has/had a high amount of thai restaurants, so… would you please give opinions on oxford’s thai restaurants, if you’ve been any? no worries if you can’t be bothered or i missed the deadline. cheers!

No problem, I’m always happy to talk about food.

Best I ever went to was Chang Mai Kitchen off the high street. Really tasty stuff.

Thaikun on George Street was ok (good for big groups) but I hate a George Street with a passion so…

Thai Orchid on St Clements was another fairly good place.

I never made it to Oli’s Thai which I’m really sad about, but you had to book four months in advance just to get a table.

There’s also a little cafe place opposite the cinema on Gloucester Green that was decent.

What about you, any favourites?

only went oli’s thai once, but was delicious. yeah, there’s space for hardly any people inside.

think i overdid it on chang mai, the last time i was with mancunians and people on the table next to us were loudly braying anti-northern bile. want to say i didn’t like the food so much that time either, but maybe the clientele influenced that.

yes! the one on gloucester green. great value, kind of funny how (sometimes rudely) brisk the service is. again, think i’ve overdone it, the tofu was a lil’ dry last time. would go again.

thaikhun i guess is a chain. tasty, but small portions and expensive.

would like to try the one in covered market at some point.

Oh yes, forgot about the covered market. Was quite good, but whenever I walk past it’s always hit and miss if you’ll actually get a seat, and it’s probably a nightmare at the moment.

I haven’t been to Chang Mai for years, so it may well have changed quite a bit since then.

saying ā€˜kind of funny’ about the service in the gloucester green one, i have thought that before, maybe thinking i’m laid back and don’t need waiting staff to make me feel like a king, but feel bad saying that now, like i hope they’re ok, not miserable/ under pressure- it’s not about me! with the prices being so low, i wonder about the wages.

Looks about right, I’ll be one of them
