It’s a horror film made by someone who doesn’t understand horror films.

Don’t Look Now isn’t scary until the end, and if you’re not already asleep by that point then you’re a better man than me.

Not jump frights but pretty tense/creepy/scary tension build up (plus nobbing).

I guess tense and tension are sort of the same thing…

I find it very strange and unnerving

For the record, the scariest film I have seen in the last 20-odd years is probably The Descent

I think I’ve even persuaded my Mum to watch it. “Oo, I love Toni Colette, she was so good in Muriel’s Wedding”

^Scariest film I’ve seen tbh tbf.

Spoorloos

Although ^wins prizes for most downbeat ending…

Probably had more Threads-related nightmares in the past 30 years than any other stimulus

What’s everyone’s top5 scary movies then?

I’m not very knowledgable when it comes to the genre but even I can see some of that guardian list is taking the piss.

Films that we’ve found scariest? Prolly…

  1. Threads
  2. Spoorloos
  3. Audition
  4. Jaws
  5. Session 9
  1. Eraserhead
  2. The Wickerman
  3. Evil Dead 2
  4. Whistle and I’ll Come to You
  5. Death Line

(These are my favourite horror films, not films I’ve found scariest. I don’t want to think about the films I found scariest)

I think she may have forgot how gratuitous is was. Having said that, that scene is shot so well. Cuts to them post-coitally dressing makes it all seem kind of lovely and normal?

Which @Jeremys_Iron was also encouraged to do.

Aye when I meant ‘normal’ I meant not deliberately explicit, thrashing around like a drunk dolphin ala Showgirls.

Hmm ahm oot.
