I’m sure at the one near me they only sell twin packs of everything.

When doing the shopping at Mozzer’s mid-morning, a couple of times I’ve thought ‘Ooh, fancy a pastie for lunch actually’. They only sell them in twin packs. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying a solitary pasty is enough for lunch, but I’ll always go for a pasty with a sausage roll, fuck having a pair of corned beef slices for lunch.

burritos are good, right. but I’ve just been stung £9.20 for a bang average burrito, some chips and a can. that’s a fucking scandal. should be £3 or thereabouts. could have got something actually decent for a tenner. sake.

Sainsbo’s and Waitrose at least do a dragon’s egg, which is one massive and nicer scotch egg, so that’s something at least.

The veggie ones at the DiS-recommend Grain Store restaurant in Kings Cross are very good. £6 a pop.

Big fan of branston pickle with my Scottish eggs, the crunch works well (obviously a fancy scotch egg must have a runny yolk, and is therefore eaten sans condiment)

Burrito pricing has gone the same way as ‘posh’ burger pricing - take what was previously the cheapest thing on the menu, put a style premium on it and charge all sides as an additional extra = $$$

2 reasons mate:

  • I wanted to prompt a sense of intrigue with the title, not giving too much of a hint as to the content of the thread

  • I couldn’t work out how to tag on my phone (I started this thread while angrily searching for a single, non-fancy scotch egg (the search was not successful))
