Any recommendations for over ear 20-35 quid headphones? My inner ear music fidelity ones have just developed a dodgy cable.

spend 40 and get the 451s. you can replace the cable.

nope: AKG K518 previously. They were really good but the cable was very thin. The Y50 has a replaceable cable so fine there. I think the Y50 sound better but I liked the K518 a lot.

The AKG K451 are absolutely fine for me with specs - they don’t grip your bonce too tightly. Might depend on how chunky your frames are, though.

are more expensive earphones generally much more durable than cheaper ones?
i just buy cheap shit ones cos they always break and i don’t wanna waste too much money, might be self defeating though

Depends on the brand, model and cost. Generally speaking they’re nice better built as they have less nasty clicky mechanisms and better materials and also allow detachable chords. The senheiser momentum and shite shr1540s I rock both feel like they’d need a bloody good beating to be damaged.

had these for four years. one of the best purchases ever. they’ve taken a hell of a beating and are still working perfectly.sound is lovely and they’re the most comfortable pair of headphones I’ve ever had. Plus you can buy replacement parts for most of the components relatively cheaply.
