Where’s the “ACUTALLY, I think you’ll find the best thing in that period was a ‘gaming PC’” option for me?

Friend at school was on the debating crew. The English A-level crew got to go see him in a debate, we got the afternoon off for it, no bad thing.

:grinning:

Using the word “crew” is too cool for that sentence.

both occurrences of the word or just one of them?

imagine going around being proud of being a toastmaster

Just one of them.

thanks

I don’t really know what they do.

I’m confused. You want to argue with people all the time? In what kind of scenario? Like when you’re on the bus and listening to people’s private lives? Or at work about work stuff? Or to haggle for cheaper shit at the market?

I don’t want to argue I want to get better at public speaking. Not even public speaking as that’s not too much of an issue. More meetings, presenting, dealing with anxiety of social situations. I’m doing ok it’d just be nice to get better at it.

It’s basically a psychological snag innit. Want to iron that fucker out and become more articulate.

Ahh right. It’s difficult stuff that’s for sure. Best way to learn is practice, prepare and get more experience with it. Also don’t be harsh on yourself if you make a mistake! Only human and all that.

I don’t do it that often but I find it helps if I tell myself as I’m speaking that a) I know what I’m talking about b) not to talk too fast because of the adrenaline and c) less is more, too much info is very boring.

Like I say, it’s hard! Can’t remember what kind of work you’re in sorry but bigger organisations sometimes have internal courses and workshops you can go on to help with stuff. Worth looking into that if you can?

Itching to alter the title to ‘toadmaster’ tbh because I keep reading it that way anyhow.
