I don’t agree with this. On the whole i’d say Liverpudlians are quite principled and progressive - notoriously so infact given the city’s ‘managed decline’ under the Tories, the race riots, the dockers and widescale unemployment, the public and media reaction to Hillsborough, etc, etc.

You should go, or at least go before writing it off. Even as a Mancunian i’d consider it the friendliest city in the UK.

Liverpool’s overhyped particularly considering how overlooked some other northern cities are, but there’s no doubt it’s a nice place.

Liverpool’s the only place in the north i’ve been to with any regularity (well, went to Manchester to visit old trafford on a football club trip once, but that doesn’t count does it?). Its nice. purple bins. cut out of the UK in the sea. cool slavery museum. fucking loads of matalans.
