you asked why people didnât put strawberry as a berry. I assumed (wrongly) that more people on DiS would be aware that a strawberry isnât a berry.
This really cheered me up, thanks @AQOS and everyone for playing. I donât even care that I did so badly!
I knew it wasnât a berry but also it was so obviously the answer to choose.
thank you @AQOS for aqos ix
Again this is the wonder of the game
Tbf if anyone said âbananaâ, which science dweebs would have you believe is a berry, then theyâd have been laughed out of the quiz.
Thanks @AQOS xoxoxo Love you and would bum.
I know. I understand how the game works thanks and I thought that more people (like me) would second guess themselves with strawberry and switch to raspberry. clearly not, oh well.
all the medals:
we STILL donât have a repeat winner
I was aware but I dispute this idea that a strawberry isnât a berry. What came first, the word strawberry or some botanist making up a scientific definition for the word berry that doesnât match the real world usage of the term?
Obviously thatâs not why i put it, i just correctly guessed that people wouldnât know/care that itâs ânot a berryâ
To me a berry is a seeded fruit that you can pick off a bush/plant
Iâve given out todayâs badges. No doubt about half of these are missing though.
I regret nothing
Technically itâs not made from straw either.
yeah will send you a list at some point
Yes, I donât think scientists get to define words. Thatâs not how language works. They can borrow the word to classify a particular type of fruit but the word is commonly used to mean a small fruit, so that is its meaning.
Raspberry isnât a berry either
