wahey!
They were reliably great last night.
Everyone needs to experience Girls Of Summer live at least once.
Or buy Mad for Sadness, cos it’s a cracking live version on there. I know it’s an issue for every band as they age, and I haven’t seen them in a couple of years so I don’t know if they’ve changed it at all, but Girls of Summer is so intrinsically linked to my twenties I’m not sure if it would work for me now I’ve just turned fifty.
Adore that track. And the live version on Mad for Sadness. I think it’s also on one of their best ofs and the remastered Philophobia double LP
Saw an instagram clip from Dublin where they played an acoustic version of Serenade, jealous
Really a very good live band
Think this is my favourite of the Bandcamp live albums
yeah this new album is yerrrifc

Missed this announcement, but this is on sale now
Finally got round to listening to this album as I’m seeing them on Friday (going mainly because it’s in a cool outdoor venue 5 mins from my flat) and it’s really great! I wasn’t expecting it to sound so chunky, really like it
Strawberry Moon instantly became my fav song of theirs
One of the things that jumped out for me was all the really cool little production things, like starting and ending the album with the dial up modem sound, or the keyboard tapping as percussion in one of the tracks, super cool sound.
oh and the marching snare bit in Strawberry Moon!
It’s already up. 7:20 in.
Ok I bought this finally and can listen for the first time. This forum hyped it up enough and I trust your opinion ![]()
