I just went on their website. I used to love the almost wetsuit style hoodies they had with the soft lining. They don’t even do them anymore!

Yeah that and Dickies were pretty big. Go in Natterjacks in Kingston and get kitted out. It was more at the skatery end of the market than the sports leisurewear.

here they are

Dickies jeans were big with skater/mosher types when I was a teen. Didn’t even know it was a workwear brand, thought it was a skate thing.

hahaha. I went there once, before a flight to Mallorca. had a few hours to waste. ended up spending a couple hundred quid on some shirts, out of pure boredom

my mate and me spent the whole holiday saying ‘natterjacks’ in silly voices

it was a shit holiday

I seem to remember Natterjacks had two shops? One for skaters, one was more ‘grown up’?

Yeah, that’s right. Just looked and at least one still exists: ndependent boutique for skate-influenced men’s fashion, trainers, accessories, books and DVDs.

Oh man, they still do them

£110!

friend of mine used to work in Legends on that road too. Him and his workmates would throw stock they liked out of the back window into a skip and then nick off with it after the shop closed.

That sounds familiar too. I used to reckon that little corner of Kingston had the best shops in Britain.

Go to Alice Holt Forest (or similar Forestry-Commission-Park-With-Expensive-Car-Park-And-Go-Ape) and you’re guaranteed to see a middle manager in his early 40s pushing a buggy and wearing one of these.

I’ve hit up the Gruffalo trail at Alice Holt.

My sister lives in Ash and so we met her and her family there in the summer. I think we went round the Gruffalo trail too!

But I digress.

It’s got a good playground but the parking is outrageous (when I was wearing Carhartt I wouldn’t have given a shit about this).

Anyone use to have a Duffer hoody back in the 90’s?

I feel Stussy is the same but it could be different?

It’s no Moors Valley Country Park tbh.

I have a pair of Dickies site boots. I’d never come across them as a skater thing.

Not the boots, the jeans.

Yeah they were, pal. I used to have a red t-shirt with Dickies in big white letters across the front. Maybe you are cooler than you realised.
