Absolutely fucking not.

Yep. Leap out of bed and am one of those people first thing in work who is all like MORNIN’ LETS GO!

weekend I like to sit and drink tea in bed and listen to 6music but not as a I can’t get up thing just a little treat/relax time.

Working day = sleeping in to the last possible moment
Day off= wake up at 7 or 8, make coffee and an egg

People that act like arseholes because they are tired in the morning are the worst. Pull yourself together ffs and internalise your horror at having to be awake early, like everyone else.

Used to have a manager who stated she was “not a morning person” that she seemed to think was an excuse for being a rude prick to everyone in the morning. Get over yourself!

Can go too far the other way though as work with some people that turn up at 6:30am for a shift that starts at 7:30am. Do literally anything else with your lives!?!

I love the mornings. If I were able to I would go to bed early and get up at sunrise, but I can’t do that due to work stuff. Used to really enjoy cycling for an hour across town on early shifts at the cafe, riding through the park with the railway workers in their hi viz doing tai chi in the mist (seriously this was a thing)

Do really like being up and out early in the summer, mornings are a write off the rest of the year though

Worst are people who jabber at you first thing in the morning like it hasn’t even occurred to them that you might not be ready for it yet

It is. And are you able to get up early and enjoy them cheerfully etc.

Worked with a woman once who would always be like “I’m exhausted! I got up at 5am!” whenever we talked about feeling tired/ready for home time etc.

You’d be like “well at least you can sleep in past 5am tomorrow!” and she would say “no! I always wake up at 5am!” Probed a bit more and it was because she had to start her commute at 7:30 to get to work before 9. So she would wake up at 5am, make breakfast and brew coffee til 5:30, then spend an hour slowly reading the paper or something while sipping the coffee, and then an hour getting showered/dressed/made up. She was absolutely adamant that this routine was completely utilitarian and there was no way on Earth she could allow herself to miss her 30 min coffee brew or hour long reading time.

Anyway, I actually think she had a point and this is the better way to start the day tbh w u.

ha that’s what i mean. i enjoy them but i think cheerful might be pushing it a bit

you don’t want to see me before i have my coffee!!!111 lololol

With a commute, not a morning person.

Able to bumble about my own house for a bit, and not stress about getting ready? Much more a morning person.

Weekend or holiday so no need to face the prospect of work? Morning person.

Wake up pretty early in general now, but definitely not ready to face the world much before 10. I never sleep in as such but spend a long time in that half awake/half asleep phase

My old flat had a balcony and drinking a tea / coffee / juice on it in the summer was the best way of slowly waking up. miss that

Can’t seem to sleep past about 6.15 anymore. Sometimes manage another hour on a day off but I think that’s just who I am now.

Used to be an evening person, couldn’t get to sleep before 2/3am now I’m used to getting up at 6 and waking up and lying there for hours before that sometimes.

One good thing is that I no longer feel physically sick having to get up early as that used to happen every day, so that’s nicer at least.

I’d rather work an early shift than a late shift, if that’s what you mean

What are bath people

(I don’t find morning people that annoying really but this seems like one of those threads where we’re all supposed to pretend to be angry about stuff so I’m playing my part)
