Jamie Lenman as well. Loved Reuben, his solo stuff is fine but he puts out stuff all the time and I can’t muster up encouragement to listen. If Reuben reunite, count me in but otherwise…nah

I was full-on obsessed for YHF through Sky Blue Sky. Messageboards every day, bootlegs galore, even flew to see them on my own.
Then suddenly just stopped caring altogether. Still listen every now and then but for a band that meant everything to me, I was surprised at how quickly I moved on and didn’t look back.
Gruff Rhys solo. Feels like he’s been releasing the same album every couple of years for the best part of a decade now. Didn’t even bother with his most recent one. Get the band back together, lads.

So much to love in their early work. Everything they’ve released in the past twenty years or so has been 1) very similar to each other and 2) really fucking boring.
I am fully done with the Mountain Goats now they are releasing concept albums about old goths / DnD. Not for me
