Nor did I until she showed me the photos the other day!

Hey! What kind of patterned fabric are you after? Like nice stuff or cute characters?

I order from a range of places.
1st for Fabrics are good cause they have knit and woven (knit will be like t-shirt or sweatshirt material, woven is stuff like cotton, shirt material etc)

Most places do their fabrics by half a metre so never really an issue to order just a little!

If you want stuff like table runners or to make cushions, textile express have thicker upholstery fabrics or waterproof fabrics.

Other than that, I order from Fabric Godmother, Like Sew Amazing, Lamazi Fabrics, Sister Mintaka, Sew Me Sunshine, Sewisfaction, Fabrics Galore, Abakhan, Minverva Craft…loads of places
Let me know what you’re thinking of making and if you see any fabrics you like and I’m sure I can let you know if they’ll be suitable!

I’m not sure about specific websites as I am lucky to have two local fabric shops. Ebay is pretty good for fabrics.

If you don’t need large quantities you could buy ‘fat squares’ or ‘fat quarters’ as these are usually cheap and you can buy bundles of different fabrics this way.

Their Manchester shop is excellent (well, at least it was years ago as writing this I realise I have not been in quite some time)

Been working on a little game for my nieces and nephews the last few weeks. Has been such a nice project to keep me occupied, as, like most other artists I know, I’ve really not felt in the right headspace to be making ‘proper art’ these past couple of months.

The gameplay concept is from an old German game I found. Really happy with how it turned out, is such fun to play!

Process shots (forgot to take photos to begin with, but you get the idea! 🙃):

I am very glad to hear this! They always had a particularly outstanding button selection.

Thank you, that’s a very kind thing to say. SO looking foward to lots of games of it with them once we all get back to normal.

Are the two bits of base just placed together, or are they hinged?

They’re hinged together with fabric attached to the back (using Mod Podge) like this:

Oh, @ttf this stuff completely escaped my mind when I was talking about sealing stuff - something you might want to investigate for that project.

plan to stick some wallpaper on the pickguard of my new mini jazzmaster guitar, the wallpaper samples arrived today and they seem exactly the right size which is a bit of luck. don’t like the patterns though, william morris designs that I guess look good on a big wall but are too big a scale for this little thing. gonna hunt for more samples. after something ideally dark red to match my other guitars, but also a nice floral/leafy/naturey type pattern

Hmm…maybe look at some other types of paper?
This website* has lots of great papers of various kinds, a few of examples that might fit what you were describing:

Sorry, getting carried away, I’m a bit in love with paper. No idea why some are embedding and some aren’t :upside_down_face:

*their physical shop near Victoria station is probably my favourite shop.
