The last few posts made me think this was a Shyamalan thread and this was the biggest twist of all

DA Pennebaker died and that’s a very sad thing. It’s not often mentioned but the best of his docus (The War Room, 101, Original Cast Album Company, Monterey Pop) are very enjoyable in a way that say Nick Broomfield’s just aren’t; they’re funny, colourful, warm, human, amazing to look at. He never really quite got the credit he deserved IMO.

This clip is him at his best, as he shows Janis but then also cuts back and forth to the audience where he catches Mama Cass watching open-mouthed in amazement.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen Good Will Hunting all the way through before, might kick it on now

Really enjoyed Hobbs and Shaw, one of the most fun in the franchise I think. I didn’t realise how much of a sci fi actioner it would be. Statham is the big highlight for me, he is a really talented comedic actor and really pulls off the martial arts stuff too. I like how many closeup reaction shots they had of him.

Reynolds and Hart almost completely derail the film every time they appear. Reynolds in particular is literally just Deadpool for ten minutes of this film. All the GoT references will really date this in the future too.

watched pulp fiction
thought i’d seen it before but maybe i hadn’t because i didn’t remember much, had probs just read the plot on wikipedia.
it’s ok. mainly liked the john trovalta and uma thurman part.

I watched Climax last night on netflix

I really liked it at first - the 2 main dance bits (one near the start and another filmed from above a bit later) were really cool and it looked great

the rest was not so good , bit meh

The training montage in the desert is pretty hilarious tho.

maybe the only good bit of the film? really disliked it :slightly_frowning_face:

I watched Her Smell and The Beach Bum on a long train journey yesterday and they were both a colossal waste of time.

Trailer for new Chris Morris:

Great cast, like Chris Morris and I’m sure it’ll be good and funny and whatnot but hopefully that is just badly made trailer.

Saw a programmers screening last month, all I’ll say is don’t get your hopes up.

The trailer is really poorly edited, feels completely disjointed and I cant quite pinpoint why.

Ah that’s a shame. Maybe it’ll have a reviving re-edit?

May be too sunny for a Matrix screening, I think
