Because, lest we forget, the biggest beneficiaries are those with decent incomes.

Still believe there should be no income tax or NI on income up to the living wage for a 40 hour week though - there’s no justification in my mind for taxing someone on what is considered the minimum necessary to live a basic quality of life.

At least we here at DiS have the inside track for once:

more people seem to be coming around to what (not to brag) i’ve been saying for a couple of years, which is brexit is gonna result in us going through something very similar to what happened to russia in the 90s, with lots of people dying, unrest, etc, while businesses, oligarchs and organised crime fight vicious gang wars over who gets to loot which bits of the state and finally some strongman getting enough support from the remaining parts of the security and military infrastructure to assume power

it goes without saying that all those businesses we keep hearing are so ā€œconcernedā€ about brexit will find a way to be okay with all of this once a parasite consultant class shows them how much money there is to be made in collapse

plenty of people are already making plenty of money out of brexit #citymates

true that

That’s a complete misrepresentation. The context is Cummings’ apparent plan to use an election to bulldoze through no deal.

Grayling’s influence lasts even after his resignation…

you think the progressive tax should be scrapped and not national insurance?

IIRC, BITT is pro-replacing both with a tax on wealth. May be remembering wrong though.

This makes sense, salaried income can be a relatively small part of a rich person’s overall wealth, so we need to think beyond income tax.

There’s always a back pocket blinder Xylo, the question is whether it will ever be played.

Ah, so he’s joined your cult too

Corbyn will not end up as PM at all or stop Brexit due to the fault of other parties; his party AND the general public.

probably needs a Corbyn’s fault option (not that I would click it)

Still having a job getting my head around the concept of Tory MPs apparently sitting in their gites in France thinking up ways to get rid of a Prime Minister that they said they’d resign from the party over if he got picked, and who they then picked, and who is now doing exactly what he said he’d do if he got picked.
