ah i was the latter. I mean, ideally we’d abolish all forms of profit to stem off human greed (although I have no doubts people would just find something else to hoard and barter with because we’re the fucking worst)

But I’m willing to grit my teeth and say that like, I can live with a socially democratic tiny bit capitalist system - one that’s geared towards community-focused small businesses, in the meantime. Until the full revolution.

the independence movement which is basically centre-right and led by economic liberals definitely tanked their economy a bit. yeah, they’re historically one of, if not the most prosperous regions in spain, but the referendum (in which only nationalists participated because it wasn’t a legal referendum) and subsequent trouble has definitely had a negative impact on the region.

it was a narrow win though, and on a low turnout, his win will definitely have shaken people out of apathy on the other side, doubt he will have won people over during his term so his base probably has more to lose than win, plus there demographics work against him in each passing year
