I feel like Brexit is a tv show now, some long running soap with a huge cast of characters and call backs and I just can’t keep up with them. Its like I’m watching the new season of Hollyoaks and having absolutely zero idea of who anyone is.
The Hitler in his bunker thing is used when someone is perceived to be shutting out reality and not listening to anyone I think, it doesn’t imply the person referred to is a Nazi.

yeah i think if you decide to go beyond just using the common phrase ‘bunker mentality’ and start going “it’s a bunker mentality, you know, like Hitler? the last days of Hitler? yeah it’s like that. Hitler.” then you know exactly what you’re doing.
