Saying yes to suspending parliament is as political an action as saying no.

This is a despicable affront to democracy and would set a very dangerous precedent if it actually goes ahead.

What a fucking mess.

She’s in Balmoral

Thank god they confirmed that, I nearly addressed my letter to Buckingham Palace. Wouldn’t have wanted to look stupid.

I might do even less work than usual today

The Queen gets back from her holiday, picks up your letter from the doormat and curses that she read it too late.

odds on there being a ā€œwhat’s the story in… Balmoralā€ headline at some point this week?

lol this fucking sucks so much lads. why am i even at work we’re about to go full yugoslavia and then even if we get thru this there’s 50 years of climate meltdown and resultant syria-style fractal wars to enjoy. 10 years ago my biggest concern was if they’d ever do a third ghostbusters.

I remember the days when all I had to worry about was where to find a sufficiently sturdy table to hide under in the event of an inter-continental nuclear war.

It is very hard to adequately focus on work when all this is going on

Turns out we didn’t need the bomb to turn the planet into an unlivable wasteland, just needed to turn our entire industry into being dependent on burning oil for 200 years.

Ironically, properly managed nuclear power would actually have been better in the long run

Parliament was last prorogued in May 2017 to make way for the General Election to be held on 8 June.

There’s a pic of all the opposition leaders lined up for some kind of announcement of their opposition to Brexit, Tories are straight in using it as campaign material (ā€˜these parties want to overturn 17.4 million votes’ etc).

I’m really surprised some ppl in here didn’t think that no deal was inevitable once Boris got in? Polling shows a Labour GE win in all circumstances except for no deal, where the Tories win comfortably. He wants to secure a legacy and won’t want to replicate May’s reign of nothing. Even if that legacy is a disaster, there are so many people who will find any other scapegoat than no deal Brexit to blame for its disasters.

I sort of wished at the time that they had voted through May’s deal - sure, it was shit, but this is so much shitter
