Just to add more detail. He had a great 17/18 and was on the verge of an England u19 callup which is unusual at L1 level but got an injury so missed this and then preseason last year, so then he had a fairly difficult season in 18/19 and couldn’t hold down a place. He likes to run with the ball through the middle, isn’t really a winger, doesn’t have the goal threat or assists yet to play as a 10, so key for him is to get regular playing time and to see how he can settle into a role. I would have liked to keep him for another year because he’d have benefitted from the playing time he’d get, but he’s clearly destined for bigger things. If he gets back to his early form then he’s a gem, but he has stalled a bit

I guess playing for your first team he wouldn’t need to. Think our defence will be a rude awakening.

interesting, thanks - going for players with potential is our usual preference so sounds a good fit, although at the moment we’re playing a kind of 3-4-3 and from your description not entirely sure how he’d fit in and play lots of first team football, doubt he’d join to play in our B team. we’ll see though.

He threw one in, misjudged a cross, and made one routine save. He’s a good distributor tbf to the lad, one of those keepers that will stand out lower down the leagues.

Really frustrating that we have again signed a fuck load of players who haven’t really improved the team. There are still square pegs in round holes (Cash at RB) and plenty of awful players still starting - Dawson over Figueiredo, Watson over literally any of our other defensive midfield options.

Forest have got nearly 40 players on the books, with little prospect of that number decreasing. The manager is talking about 3 or 4 more coming in!

wouldn’t be the first time we’ve done that, although iirc last time we signed someone from League One and did that, we loaned them to a League Two team so dunno what was in it for the player there :smiley:
