Theres a reasonable argument to be made that he could see his half time talk hadn’t worked, and he took the time to sit down, think it through and make the changes that led to them equalising.
A lot of the reaction to how he’s done that is just basic tribalism, but also theres an undercurrent of anti-intellectual pointing and laughing at the egghead who loves his tactics board, and PFM, toxic masculinity, that would be licking his arse if he’d gotten the same result by standing on the touchline, shouting his way to an anuerysm, having headbutted one of the players he was subbing off.

The same as the wally with the brolly innit. Objectively nothing wrong with what either of them were doing in the moment, but it’s impossible not to wind up as a joke when you look like a drowned rat while you’re team is getting humiliated.
