Larry’s not gonna do it all for you guys, come on.

Surely his line is that Brexit is going to happen (and he wants it to), but that he wants a Labour government to be in charge of what happens afterwards. Obviously many will disagree with him on the first point, but pretty sure most people here agree with him on the second.

The rise of populism across Europe, which is being documented by the Guardian this week

SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT POPULISM LARRY

Oh of course. Piece of piss to write a column which doesn’t contribute to any of the heavy lifting/thinking though. Most people here could do that. But that’s journalism for you.

The “I’m a serious left-leaning economist who believes in Brexit” thing is his thing and always has been. Hard to see how he could take any different tack.

Yeah that’s fine. My point is him going “THE LEFT NEEDS TO THINK OF WHAT THIS LOOKS LIKE” whilst… doing nothing of the sort himself. It’s always the responsibility of ‘somebody else’.

tbh this thread of far far too long but digs deep into all the people behind the brexit vote

Fair enough. I read it yesterday. It didn’t make much of an impression, and I don’t think I can be arsed reading it again.
