ING only came into existence in 1991, after a merger of an insurance company and a bank. They have been sponsoring the Dutch FA since 1996.

Oh I don’t know actually. I assumed it was legit but no idea.

had a quick look and yep that does appear to have been their badge between 1938-45

and the ING logo is intentionally modelled after the Dutch FA or is it a general piece of Dutch iconography (or both, I guess)?

The colour orange refers to the House of Oranje-Nassau (royal family) and the lion is part of the country’s coat of arms

Heraldic rules in Scotland mean shields in crests can be a problem ( Airdrie and Ayr have been told to change their badges). This guy has set about doing some redesigns.
