“deep cut” and even “dropped” (as in released) are other Americanisms it took me a long time to get used to

This meaningless drivel kind of construction :

[band name] sound like if [band name] had watched more [cultural reference point] and grown up working in a fireworks factory with [band name] whilst [band name] poured petrol all over them.

I like deep cut, I don’t think there’s an equivalent for that but I can’t imagine I’ll ever use “dropped” in place of “released”. “jam” to describe a song you like jars a bit as well
