What about samosas or pea kachoris?

Yeah they look great, guess you could make them the night before and leave them in the fridge, then just bung them in the oven on the day

I’d imagine the dough would dry out cause it’s basically just flour and water. I’d cook them up the night before and just warm them through in the oven the next day. They’re so good, made them loads.

Big bowl of crisps

I’ve been using that book! It’s great - only clanger so far was the harissa aubergine which went a bit smooshy but I think I packed too much in the pan. Did the chickpea and roasted sprout chaat masala on Saturday. Absolute banger.

Ooh that sounds good.

I went to Sambal Shiok on Holloway road for Laksa last week and they had a Gado Gado salad which was SO FUCKING GOOD so I’m v pleased there is a recipe for that in this cook book. Dying to make it.

Do they do ready made rolls of vegan pastry?

I really hate making dough.

This one is literally flour and water so it’s not like pastry.

But all Jus Rol standard ready made pastry items are vegan. They have one that’s all butter but the rest (puff, shorcrust, filo etc) is all vegan.

Even the cinnamon swirls and croissants etc

I’m not even close to being vegan but it seemed like a thing that would be a hard thing to find.

Jus rol puff is vegan? Sweet. I can do my lentil pie without an egg wash. Bonza

Brush it with soy milk. It does the same job.

We went here at the weekend for their taster menu - it was excellent. It was less about really big flavours and more about textures, but if you’re after a treat, it’s worth a trip:

It’s cheaper to use oil than butter and you know how the pastry oligarchs love profit.

Gunna do these, a lentil pie, a puy and roast tomato salad, salt & pepper crispy tofu, then (non vegan) brocoli and halloumi salad and a coleslaw, maybe make some flatbreads as well. My kitchen is quite small, this could be interesting
