wtf, why if you’ve bought a cd or record should you have to download it for the charts to count it? make it make sense

I knew it was the case for digital sales (so if you bought it to have in your Bandcamp library to stream, you’d have to also download it for it to count to the charts). Didn’t realise it also applied to physical sales from Bandcamp, which makes no sense.
Tbf most stuff I’d get from Bandcamp isn’t making it within 100 miles of a chart anyway.
