I never loved the Beatles. But I certainly appreciate their contribution to the world we live in. It’s unmistakable. I’m a Bowie fanatic, but even still, it’s all about the Beatles, isn’t it?

But no, maybe it’s all about the Sex Pistols, in 1977, you tell me.

i think beatles had such a strong influence on so many musicians that followed them that the genius of what they did is lost on certain people. almost all the beatles stuff i like is music i was introduced to as a child, when i’ve looked into other stuff of theirs it doesn’t really excite me as much

I believe the influence of the Sex Pistols is vastly overrated.

If you want to finger a punk band for changing the world (snarf snarf), look to The Ramones, or The Clash.
