Bands that could reform, but won't

By which I mean now that Oasis have ripped off the plaster it feels like every old band whose members are all still active are getting back together “so their kids can see them” or some such excuse… but that can’t be the case for everyone. Obviously the Smiths, because Johnny Marr keeps finding new things to hate Morrissey for, and none of them are unjustifiable.

But also, Elastica. Probably the last really significant Britpop(-adjacent) band who haven’t got back together in some form and there was that photo a while back of the three of them together when the debut album was remastered for Record Store Day, but Justine understandably seems to want nothing to do with it any more and it feels like Donna is happy out of the direct spotlight.

Lee said in 2013 that Thurston and Kim were still not on good terms and he couldn’t see it happening, but I wonder if things have thawed any in the intervening years

Rilo Kiley. I’ve been expecting a reform to happen for years and have eventually given up hope. See also Longpigs, until Dee passed away.
