It maybe has the best versions of those songs, but it’s not their best album
The Make-Up
It’s a close one, but I think I prefer Fear of Music and Remain in Light personally. If I was going to put a Talking Heads album on it would probably be one of them rather than Stop Making Sense (although Stop Making Sense is great, obviously).
J Geils Band- ‘Blow Your Face Out’
Don’t know his catalogue well enough tbh but live at San Quentin is my go to Johnny Cash.
Wilco? Wilco.
Hawkwind
Astonishing live album, and contains the all time best version of The Mercy Seat… but I wouldn’t rank it as the best Bad Seeds album by any means.
Live Seeds immeasurably improves upon the studio versions of The Good Son and Henry’s Dream material for sure though.
AC/DC
And quite possibly live after death by iron maiden too.
Good shout there.
I’m not sure I’d listen to it now, given that I can’t stand the man these days, but for my money Beethoven was Deaf is the best Morrissey release. Leans heavily on Your Arsenal but it rocks a bit harder. Some of those versions are the definitive versions in my opinion.
Dunno about best but it is v good
Better than Highway 61 Revisited or Blonde on Blonde or Blood on the Tracks or Bringing it All Back Home? Really?
Heh heh
Not even his best live album.
Bob Dylan live at budokan is arguably one of the great atrocities of our times
‘Hard Rain’ surely isn’t though
