Cant believe I’m muted

Would you class Glassjaw’s Coloring Book a complete change of sound or just minor? Post-hardcore to loud as fuck shoegaze post-hardcore

Huh?

Its in the OP

Seems a bit of a natural progression for them to me

Definitely a stretch to say completely changed genre, but I’d go for mewithoutYou’s It’s All Crazy! It’s All False! It’s All a Dream! It’s Alright sandwiched in-between shoutier/louder albums?

Deerhunter. Their first album was a long film.

Seems there’s a lot of Hardcore bands who just got bored of playing it after a few albums

…and then into Nick Drake for quite literally a Sea Change.

Celtic Frost never really settled on any genre did they, To Mega Therion was the only proper black metal album they did. Into the Pandemonium was some of everything (a lot of it very bad), Cold Lake and Vanity/Nemesis were both more glam infused and Monotheist was more sludge than anything else. Fun band.

Bomb The Music Industry basically moved away from ska and chiptune on Vacation to become a Brian-Wilson style Indie Pop band with a bit of punk thrown in. It’s their best record and one of the best rock albums of the last twenty years.

AFI went from being a second rate hardcore punk band to a third rate emo band.
