Each album from the original run was a total reinvention and perfect. Siamese Dream was a curveball post Gish, Mellon Collie was a massive curveball post Siamese Dream, Adore was a massive curveball post Mellon Collie, and the Machinas were a curveball post Adore.

The reunion wasn’t quite as universally beloved but I still think it was successful. Zeitgeist, Oceania, and CYR especially are great albums and totally different from each other.
