Amnesiac is my second favourite Radiohead album so maybe this explains things.

But in all honesty In Rainbow is a very cohesive album with a very distinctive, tuneful, sounds. It is very comfortable in its own skin and has no over long pointless skits (such as in Kid A) or utterly cringe inducing emo stuff (Ok Computer). Reckoner is stunning and all the tracks are beautiful and well crafted.

Most essential Radiohead album? Of course not. Best one? Yeah for me. Not even close.

In the past The Bends and then Ok Computer were my favourite. I’ve gone off the first in a big way and actually find myself skipping many first half tracks Ok Computer.

Never really liked Neon Bible, too overblown for me. The Suburbs and Reflektor were great but could have done with 10 - 15 mins chopped away. I think someone on here said that they were great until the song Sprawl II, the success of which made them think they could be a ‘disco/party’ band as opposed to a great indie band.

As much as it pains me to say it, Björk.

Hands down one of my all time favourite artists, but have to admit I just haven’t really connected with her albums since Volta, like I did with the likes of Homogenic and Vespertine. Something is missing for me.

I think I appreciate and admire them, but love them? Not so much. Vulnicura was extraordinary in its examination of a destroyed relationship, but much like the latest Mt. Eerie album, there’s little in there that caught my ear and made me want to revisit, or look forward to hearing again.

That said, I still look forward to hearing more from her, it’s just tinged with a bit of trepidation these days.

Have to agree, albums always seemed to be ‘one good - one bad’ , More Light was really good I thought, but the last one was pretty poor.

I think there was always going to be a dip that run Post to Vespertine was seriously unreal. Three of my favourite albums ever! But some poor albums since. The new one is a small return to form and had it been a follow up to volta It might be getting more listens but it’s just a little dry and complex for me. Nothing really to grip on to.

Eels.
Definitely one of my favourite bands up until Blinking Lights, but then he mostly seemed to lose his magic. I think there are a few nice songs in the following albums (which I keep buying), but they’re generally just swallowed up by other songs which all sound too homogenous.
I used to love going to see them play live also, but wasn’t sure how new-song-heavy their gigs would be (or just how standard rocky they would be (I miss the keyboards and brass)), so haven’t seen them in ages.
It must be because Butch left the band, obviously.

The Somersault album by Beach Fossils has a couple of good songs on it, but the other song make me feel like this is a band that I need not pay close attention to any more.

I listened to the album as soon as it dropped, after having its singles months beforehand. A few of those singles had me worried, but I didn’t anticipate this band taking on such a bad direction. After days of trying the record again and again, I deleted it in favor of just keeping a couple of its better singles.

I may still go see them for the tour, hoping the new material is better in person, but I’ll actually be going for their opener.

I came here to say exactly this for all those reasons. Surprised they hadnt cropped up ealrier. Same themes over and over, music got more and more samey. Such a shame, I used to worship the ground that man walked on and always saw every tour… Hombre Lobo worked but everything since is so dull and repetitive it’s made me stop listening to him completely.

Yeah, was also surprised that they hadn’t been mentioned yet. I’ve seen Eels ten times now, but the last non-festival set was back in 2008. I did actually enjoy seeing them the last two times (at Latitude and End of the Road), so maybe I might consider another gig one day. I do still go back and listen to Daisies and Electro-Shock Blues every now and then though.
