Yes, the Christian metalcore one! Think they’ve moved past that now and the lyrics are more in line with something like Neurosis or Integrity. Bleak, slow, heavy stuff.

Feel like this thread was made for me as i’ve discovered so many classics in the past 3/4 years that I dismissed in my youth.
In the past couple of months, I can probably list Devo, Janet Jackson and A Certain Ratio as the main 3 i’ve listened to a fair bit. Also currently listening to Orange Juice, who may or may not be added to that list but i’m only half way through Rip It Up at the moment. But am enjoying it.

When I was at school I liked plenty of noisy-ish guitar bands but had some friends who were into heavier metally stuff than me. Anyway, having dabbled occasionally with them over the years, mainly from nostalgia, Sepultura (Max era) have graduated to ‘I really like this’ rather than ‘I remember this and enjoy the odd tune now and then’. I can finally appreciate the craft/playing/inventiveness more as well at the general ethos which I always thought was pretty cool at the time. Fun getting into these albums now as I have memories of bits of them from when I was a teen. Fresh ears and all that.
