Naby Keita to Liverpool next season.

Think thats decent business by them…cheaper than the £70 million they offered before. Sort of means that next summer already looks positive for them. Don’t think Leipzig will complain too much given he was always likely to go.

Perhaps they can prioritise getting a CB in now…

Are you a Liverpool fan then? If so, what you reckon to this whole van Dijk saga? It appears Southampton would rather sell him to Portsmouth than Liverpool…yet the media still seem sure that move will happen in the next 2/3 days. All the while, no offers appear to have been made and no real alternatives are mentioned. To think they could have had Harry Maguire for 17 mil!

Yeah I am. No idea tbh, but it does seem they’re adamant to sell him to anyone else other than Liverpool first. The no alternatives thing is frustrating as fuck, seems like we spent the whole summer after this handful of targets with nothing else lined up. Although, Keita and Lemar out of the blue is giving me hope that there’s much more going on we don’t know about!

To an extent yeah…my Saints-fan friend absolutely hates them. But they’ve never really exploited them or anything…until van Dijk Southampton have given in each time.

If you’d got Salah, Keita and Van Dijk (along with keeping Coutinho)…I’d have put you close to being title favourites.

With just one of those three…fourth would be another good season. One more decent buy and 2nd/3rd is likely

Keita had a release clause that kicks in next summer. Leipzig wouldn’t want to lose him to Bayern, but they also knew caving in now would make them look like they’re not serious about competing.

Quite like the look of this Liverpool side, but i’d argue they’re only replacing their already good players with comparable ones. Salah’s come in, Coutinho’s going. Keita’s agreed, but Can’s out of contract and probably going to Juve.

As a fan of a rival club i’d be more worried if they addressed the gaping holes in their defence. Their goalkeepers are bobbins, though Mignolet’s form improved, and thouh he looked very good on his debut i don’t know if Robertson’s of the level required. Maybe they’ll sign van Dijk, but if they don’t, or a comparable player, they’d have the poorest back five of the Big Six, including Arsenal, their big game brainfarts aside.
