No word of a lie, before I opened this thread earlier I thought it was one of yours and this would have been the post that went with it
FACT : Ben Mitchell has been played by approximately 1,247 actors, starting with famed music hall star Little Tommy Browntrousers in 1892, who appeared for many years before handing over the role to Mike and Bernie Winters.
There was an old interview with Barbara Windsor, i think on BBC3, where she was asked if she based the character of Peggy Mitchell on anybody in particular. I thought she might have said an old battleaxe aunt, or an infamous East End landlady of the Krays era, etc, but with a completely straight face she said the former Arsenal and Scotland goalkeeper Bob Wilson. Surreal.
