The individual episodes of this are still good but I don’t think that it has overall matched the quality of season 1. The overall narrative arc isn’t as good, especially the show they’re putting on at the theatre, and the jokes aren’t quite as strong.

i disagree, i think this whole season has been a step up in quality, there hasn’t been as much of the theatre stuff but i think that’s been the trade off for having more of hank, who’s the best thing about it

last episode was absolutely tremendous as expected, be interesting to see what they do with the 3rd series as the whole theatre aspect seems to have run it’s course

I’m hoping Barry and Sally get parts on a film/show. Loved the skewering of Hollywood in the Gersh scenes and reckon they could take that further.

Agreed, I wasn’t 100% into the acting stuff and Sally in S1 but they really made it work in S2 and much more invested in it.

What a great season of tv, absolutely loved the finale.

This still makes me giggle a lot

just got up to the Ronny/Lily episode

never seen a show jump the shark so suddenly and extravagantly

flying dropkick into a shelving unit full of nappies whilst LeAnn Rimes was playing was a funny set-piece, ngl

I didn’t hate it, but man… it was like a daft Hollywood comedy horror take on the show

good line in episode 6 just now, mind

Hope season 3 is coming in 2021.
Watched all of Gotham recently and was very happy that Hank plays Victor Zsaz in it and its basically the prototype for the Hank character just minus the accent and he gets more Hank like as the seasons pass. One of the highlights for me :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Not exactly the same as it’s a full episode vs a scene, but felt more like the aliens in S2 Fargo. No real context or explanation, and could be quite jarring, but mainly just a weird entertaining thing they wanted to try that adds to the lore of the show

I haven’t watched Fargo… for the opposite reason, in that the episode I watched some of seemed to have that gravely serious big drama vibe when the original was a black comedy

but I probably will try again

episode 7 of Barry s2 now. amazing. a lot to unpack. think this’ll defs reward a rewatch.
