Fuck BBC News

did an internship at the independent just after leaving uni years ago, and was shocked at what went on. was there when Berezovsky committed suicide, and the reaction to it by the people there was pretty fucking weird. just basically how quickly they could plausibly publish something shocking.

Yeah I can’t imagine how a young person with an embedded understanding of how social media works would decide ‘i want to write for the Sunday times’. These worm folk do exist, and they deserve to have their career aspirations destroyed

That’s scoop value, which has always been a (crap) part of journalism - add in the star factor and you’ve got a horrible chimera

Honestly,destroy 2000 years of culture

CW: death

Fuck this misleading subtitle. Of course there’s an increase in other causes of death, but it all comes back to the virus, the lockdown and the strain the NHS is under. I know they clarify this in the article but what one earth does saying this on the homepage achieve aside from casting doubt on the impact the virus is having? FFS
