There’s an inconsistency in those headlines, right?
The primary aim seems to be identifying minority characteristics, and pointing fingers, even victim blame, rather than employ any kind of consistency or standard to the reporting.
Would be so easy to re-write the headlines in a more responsible manner, rather than resort to this sort of thing.
And I get that that certain mentions in the first example may help with investigations, whereas in the latter example someone has already been charged, but still…
