I’m getting a semli just thinking about it.

We’re pretending it’s at the weekend, yeah?

I kid you not, I’ve had it put to me, that we’ve ‘literally had pancakes recently’ as an argument against me enjoying tomorrow the way, Jesus, the supermarkets and my belly want me to.

Last year we weren’t allowed pancakes on pancake day, with a promise thats we’d have them instead the following weekend. We did not in fact have them the following weekend.

Knew it was coming up because of pancake batter being out on display at both Lidl and Tesco but was surprised when someone told me it was tomorrow.

History’s Greatest Monster strikes again!!!

(We’ve had pancakes recently isn’t the reason not to have them tomorrow, that’s the reassurance we make them quite regularly and WILL eat them at the weekend. The reason I’m suggesting we shouldn’t having pancakes tomorrow is that you just made us a tray of croissants and I made brownies yesterday)

Subthread: anyone thinking of giving something up for Lent?

  • Some kind of food
  • Alcohol / some other ‘vice’
  • Social media (in full or part)
  • Nothing
  • Something else

when does lent start?

Didn’t mean to make this anonymous

Day after tomorrow

hmm I have a few things left to do yet but I have been thinking about quitting the internet for a while

I’m religious but I don’t go in for a lot of the traditions… I do think there is something useful in the whole reflection thing - also I find it easy to form habits / mild dependencies on things and it’s good to knock these on the head from time to time. It’s one of the reasons I have a break from DiS every so often.

WHENS FUCKING EASTER FUCK SAKE DAY OFF

19th-22nd April.

hmmm, I feel like there was something on, on Maundy Thursday? and we were like, oh, but it’s a weeknight, and I was all, No it’s not, and that’s all I remember.

I assume everyone is going to read Ash Wednesday by T.S. Eliot on Ash Wednesday, as is traditional?

I will spend the day talking like the lead character from evil dead, as is traditional

I didn’t have much food I’d consider more than OK when I’ve been to Sweden but I do love the pastries

I will bump the Ash Wednesday thread on the music board, as is traditional.
