Mine was The Castle, round the corner from Rummers - but the Glengower was where I went to watch the football and do the pub quiz. Spectacular in Summer too with the large windows, I just remember the manager being a grumpy git.
Also don’t know if you remember The Bay, had some very grimey nights in there.

The Bay was a mainstay of my student life - fortunately it didn’t close until after I graduated. Discovered it during freshers week and went several times pretty much every week for my entire degree course. Very much enjoyed the £1.40 pints with free shot of vodka (killed in 2004 I think?) and the general atmosphere of the place.

Quite enjoyed The Castle in my last year (I lived about 20 seconds from it), but it feels very generic and lacking in atmosphere inside when I go back nowadays.

Thanks Jordy

I’ve been on 3 (three) funiculars this year: Pau, San Sebastian and Ljubljana.

I might be going on one today

Should I be frightened?

Did ya?

No but I’m going to within a month. That’s a pinky promise

A saga for the ages! Keep us posted. :loudspeaker:

Where’s that? I can think of a double cable car there but not a double funicular.

Had to pop to Bridgnorth for something earlier. Was looking forward to a ride on the funicular.

Only had a £20 note on me and they didn’t have enough change. Gutted.

And the price being significantly lower than £20 is a damn shame, too. Puts paid to most possible ‘that’s a bit steep’ jokes.

Went to Verona the other week and saw this pretty funky funicular but just walked up the steps tbh

edit - just noticed the name of the photographer. Good grief.
