Best Album Artwork 2019

Yeah I guess what I thought worked well with the previous album covers was that they were disturbing but ambiguous so that you had to contemplate whether they were actually disturbing images or not. Also just like the Sacred Bones aesthetic.

This is just an overtly shocking image and I guess they wanted to do something different, which is totally understandable. I’ve never actually heard their music either so don’t know how, if at all, the imagery links in with their musical output.

Would say that Blanco Mass’ music is both nightmarish and beautiful in equal measure so the artwork tends to fit the bill :slightly_smiling_face:

Susumu Yokota, what a legend. God I wish that guy was still alive and making music.

I’m enjoying the fact that the two albums I bought this week (this and Bill Callahan) have arguably the best and the worst artwork of the year.

Baizley never disappoints. I’ve had to investigate several other bands simply because he did the artwork for them.

Chill out mate, what’s so bad?

I think Baroness’ First and Second and Kylesa’s Static Tensions are the still the best albums he put his paintbrush on

Kvelertak’s self titled debut for me.
