Oh excellent news!

Yay! Hope all the songs are about food again.

That Daughters album last year, was sort of a Girl Band album in a sense, but a darkest timeline version.

MC Horse Fucker - Time To Fuck My Horse is also a good shout.

At least there will be no quibbles over the year for Twin Fantasy

Can’t tell if people are being serious after someone suggested Let England Shake.

Released in 2011, can’t see why it wouldn’t fit the remit of this thread.

Unless you’re saying you don’t like ‘Let England Shake’ in which case I don’t think I can really help you.

First three tracks are good but then it’s downhill. On Battleship Hill is one of the worst songs ive heard.

On Battleship Hill is amazing, fantastic album and defo in my top 10 of the decade.

But my vote goes for Big Thief - Capacity followed closely by Big Thief - Masterpiece. What a great band! Adrianne Lenker’s solo stuff is also excellent.

Another top 10 which I don’t think anyone has mentioned - Japanese Breakfast - Soft Sounds from Another Planet.

Would be easily in my top ten songs of all time. Possibly top five. It’s the highlight of one of the very few albums of the last decade I’d give 10/10 to. I get shivers even thinking about that song.

It’s absolutely gut wrenching isn’t it - a work of art.

Fight me. nah don’t obvs

I feel like it’s an album where pretty much ever note is in the right place, and On Battleship Hill is the highpoint of that. Just love how the whole album manages to be really direct about the ravages of war in general without being clumsily “war=bad”. Can understand why you might not like it, though, I guess. Each to their own.

It doesn’t help that her voice goes straight through me, then you have the wailing at the start of England and I can’t make it past that.

Yeah that’s fair enough

Would love a list…

Here’s some stuff I liked from last year. I love pretty much anything that Ka and Armand Hammer do (billy woods and ELUCID).

Nice one! Will work my way through these. Gotta love this place!

Ditto. Gonna have a dig through that list myself - I like everything I’ve already heard on it.

Brilliant brilliant record.

“Roam the streets, not known for peace
Never rest, forever quest, Golden Fleece”

Had that track on a lot the past couple of weeks. Great album.

I haven’t listened to any other Ka stuff other than that and Honour Killed the Samurai. Really need to dig deeper, he has such a brilliant sense of pose and focus to his flow.

These five are in my top 10, along with (probably controversially):
Relatives in Descent
No Cities to Love
Here and Nowhere Else
Home, Like No Place is There
Slowdive

Night Time, My Time and Be the Cowboy would be close too.
