Not my first choice either, but can appreciate why people would put it there. Is a beautiful track.

Yeah, great to see them getting a bit of attention.

I knew I shouldn’t have numbered them haha. Not supposed to be in any order, hence the non-descending order. Probably should have stated that at the start of the feature…

My love for The Innocence Mission song is also tied in with the fact we ‘premiered’ it and it was one of those “holy shit this funny blog I started in my bedroom is getting to unveil something this special with the world”. I was floating for days, disappearing inside that song. It’s magical.

Ah cool. There’s a number of tracks that popped up on your list that I haven’t heard but I’ll definitely give a listen to, think they’ll be my kind of thing from the description. I’ll make sure I check out the wider site too

Real shame to see the Saba album missing. Great record.

Thanks! We’re actually more of a physical publication than a blog just now, so the past six months are a bit dry. Some info on that here:

Hope you find something you like, either way!

Don’t know what I’m more surprised about : the nme still existing or this being a not totally terrible list.

Even the Rolling Stone list isn’t 100% awful.

They don’t do a numbered list, but this is the one I’ve been waiting for:

Yes, not totally terrible, but mystified by the placing of nonsense like Muse and Greta Van Zepp above Kamasi Washington.

The NME doing that makes perfect sense, it’s the NME

I can’t argue with your logic there.

No Low at all??

@rich-t: thanks for posting this. Already know (and love) the Innocence Mission album, but already no. 2 in the list is a winner. What a lovely record Gia Margaret put out, and how did I not hear this back in July? Now starting the Damien Jurado one, and again sounds like a winner so far (only on track 1). Looking forward to delving through the rest. Thanks to to those lovely folks @GoldFlakePaint (can I get your magazine in Hong Kong?)

A bit sad to not have seen the Vaccines make any list yet. I know they’re a bit lame these days, but Combat Sports is such a fun album from start to finish I’d like to think it would at least be top 100 for some sites

So inevitable that it’d be the Arctic Monkeys and the 1975 at the top though

The Gia Margaret album is probably my personal favourite of the year (as I wrote in there). Such a prickly atmosphere running just under the surface, such beautiful songs… Thanks for checking it out.

You should be able to order the new magazine to HK here:

If it doesn’t work then let me know and I’ll get a postage quote and sort it out for you
