Best films of 2017 DiS users poll!

#1

In very much the same format as the highly acclaimed best albums poll that @Prob500 has put together, I thought it would be fun to do one for best films - especially since we have such a healthy film discussion thread.

So I’m looking for your top 5 films of 2017 (based on general UK released date, including Netflix etc.) in the style of:

  1. Best film
  2. 2nd best film
  3. 3rd best film
  4. 4th best film
  5. 5th best film

If people want to leave off a film that they already saw last year at a film festival, that’s perfectly fine, but everyone else is welcome to include ANY 2017 release that they want.

No entries with “equal first” or “joint 5th” please! I will take the first 5 entries on any given list, anything beyond that will be ignored - so choose wisely.

Vote away film fans

Scratch that I’m bored at work now:

  1. Raw
  2. Paddington 2
  3. Moonlight
  4. The Handmaiden
  5. Blade Runner 2049

Runners up – The Beguiled, Silence, Logan, Christine

What a year! I’ve seen 51 films in the cinema so far. Those top five could be in any order really, it was quite arbitrary. Has also been a top year for blockbusters. I really enjoyed War for the Planet of the Apes, Dunkirk, Kong Skull Island and Thor.
