Shit yeah i haven’t heard that one yet really looking forward to it.

What’s up with the Buxton podcast anyone know? No new eps all year?

nah he said it will be back in April - without a doubt the slowest editor of podcasts known to man, half of them will probably have been recorded last June or something

Plus I’ve found it crashes quite often (or at least stops responding to button presses until you force quit it) - are there any other decent alternatives?

Is there Hurwitz the one with the anecdote of Trebek being a dick to him on Jeopardy or was that the Breaking Bad guy?

@manches you might like this, with the Pynchon references. enjoyed all the episodes up to this…

My wife has got me into How Did This Get Made. It’s mostly great although the downsides are that the hosts are 100% FULL ON IN YOUR FACE LIKE KIDS ON FIVE BAGS OF SUGAR so you need to give yourself some time to get into it.

They also don’t actually necessarily pay wild attention to the movie. This can result in it being funny but also - in the case of the Judge Dredd one or their recollection of the original Jaws movie - lead to a bit of twitching and Patridge-like “STOP GETTING x WRONG!”

Still I have been laughing a lot at their Daredevil and Judge Dredd ones, both of which may appeal to @guntrip and @xylo and maybe @sadpunk although he strikes me as having very little patience for the exuberance of the hosts!

(Note Daredevil is from 2013 so before they knew anything about how the TV show would go but their speculation seems pretty strong to me.)

Its my fave podcast, even though they’re all full on they have me crying with laughter. Fave episodes (the live ones are the best)

Geostorm
Con Air
Demolition Man

I know this old but I really want to listen to this but feel very weird about doing so . She’s my nextdoor neighbour and I feel like I should ask her first. Or is that even weirder? Can’t help but feel like it’s delving into her private life too much.

Yeah we watched Con Air the other night because Lo was desperate to see after listening to that. I haven’t gotten around to it because I saw Daredevil and Judge Dredd and I really wanted to hear their rip into those!

Gossipmongers is the best

Had so many belly laughs from it, it’s so puerile in the best way

It’s nice to have him back. David Mitchell as reliable as ever and the Ruby Wax episode is really good.

I haven’t listened to this yet but your comment regarding the hosts being 100% full on seems to be true of most of the american podcasts i listen to. On a lot of occasions, the hosts are incredibly annoying.

If you’re a film fan it’s worth checking out I Was There Too. It’s also on Earwolf but the host, Matt Gourley, is much more restrained than the usual hosts. Each episode he talks to an actor that was in some of the biggest films ever but who played much smaller parts (like the guy who got shot by ED-209 in the boardroom in Robocop). It’s pretty good stuff and Gourley is very charming.

Absolutely, his HR Giger is immense. If you haven’t heard it already check out the Andy Daly Pilot Podcasts Project as he’s immense in those. Start with the German Tourist episode.

I don’t know how I could have made the thread title any clearer

This isn’t the “Recommend a podcast thread”

I recommend Episode 4 of the Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project ‘The Travel Bug with August Lindt’.

Featuring:
August Lindt
Werner Herzog
H.R Giger
Pope Benedict XVI

I don’t think it’s behind the paywall anymore. Worth it solely for Bananas for Bonanza.
