Sort of tangent from the controversial opinions thread but spells of a few years where an artist releases loads and it’s all brilliant
MF DOOM 2003-2005 is the obvious one for me
Take me to your leader
Vaudeville villain
Madvillainy
Venomous Villain
Mm… Food
Mm… Leftovers
The mouse and the mask
Plus all the metal fingers beats boxsets
Miles Davis 1957-1960 (Birth of the Cool, Miles Ahead, Milestones, Porgy and Bess, Kind of Blue, Sketches of Spain)
Sadness 2017-2019 (Leave, Tundra, Rain, Somewhere Along Our Memory, Circle of Veins, I Want to Be There, loads of singles)
Possibly cheating but Timbaland’s production in the late 90s/early 2000s and the Wu-Tang Clan from 1993 to 1996 if you include the solo albums are also pretty untouchable.
Al Jourgensen’s mid 80s to early 90s period for me…
Twitch - Ministry (1986)
Big Sexy Land - Revolting Cocks (1986)
The Land Of Rape & Honey - Ministry (1988)
The Mind Is A Terrible thing To Taste - Ministry (1989)
Beers, Steers & Queers - Revolting Cocks (1990)
The Last Temptation Of Reid - Lard (1990)
Psalm 69 - Ministry (1992)
Linger Ficken Good - Revolting Cocks (1993)
Plus just having some spare songs knocking around to release via Pailhead and 1000 Homo DJs
Guided By Voices mid 90s run is as good as indie rock ever got
Propeller (1992)
Vampire on Titus (1993)
Bee Thousand (1994)
Alien Lanes (1995)
Under the Bushes, Under the Stars (1996)
Not in My Airforce (1996, Bob’s solo debut)
Carnival Boy (1996, Tobin’s solo debut)
plus Tonics & Twisted Chasers and Sunfish Holy Breakfast in 96 for good measure
New Order 1982 to '86 is pretty hard to top. A run of singles including Temptation, Blue Monday, Thieves Like Us and Bizarre Love Triangle, and three 10/10 albums in Power, Corruption & Lies, Low-Life and Brotherhood.
I had no idea DOOM and Dylan had produced those streaks within only 3 years each, that’s mind boggling. Especially for MF DOOM, I can’t get my head around it.
