According to the page on rateyourmusic he had 23 releases over 28 years. 12 of them were in those 3 years. What a guy

Al Green 1969 - 1978

Twelve great studio albums in a row.

Spoon since girls can tell.

They just don’t miss.

I seriously wonder if any of these prolific streaks were free from PEDs

Dirty Beaches’ run from 2010 to 2014 is pretty amazing:

Stateless (2014)
Drifters/Love is the Devil (2013)
Badlands (2011)
Night City (2010)

…plus over a dozen EPs, singles and the odd split EP or LP over that time. Absolutely tons of great stuff, his Bandcamp page is just the tip of the iceberg

Too lazy to look but including production and writing I bet Nile Rodgers and Giorgio Moroder are up there.

Oh I’ll add a contemporary one and not 100% certain what counts as ‘proper albums’ but Sarah Davachi is on 20+ albums in less than a decade.

I’m guessing PED free too

Cocteau Twins 84-90, hard to top for me:

Pearly Dewdrop Drops/Spanglemaker EP
Treasure
Aikee Guinea EP
Tiny Dynamite/Echoes In A Shallow Bay Eps
Victorialand
Loves Easy Tears EP
The Moon & The Melodies
Blue Bell Knoll
Heaven Or Las Vegas

Should also chuck in Felt’s Primitive Painters and Dif Juz’s Extractions LP on the production/guest vocals side and that’s quite an imperial phase.

More recent times, you have to say billy woods. In the past 5 years, he’s had…

Paraffin (as Armand Hammer) (2018)
Hiding Places (2019)
Terror Managment (2019)
Shrines (as Armand Hammer) (2020)
Brass (with Moor Mother) (2020)
Haram (as Armand Hammer) (2021)
Aethiopes (2022)
Church (2022)

Hell of a run.

Bright Eyes, 2000-2005:

This period also included the splits Home Vol IV, Oh Holy Fools and One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels. And the EPs/singles Drunk Kid Catholic, There is No Beginning to the Story, and Motion Sickness. Plenty of decent b sides too. Also the Desaparecidos record was in 2002.
