An honourable nod to Primal Scream too. The Echo Dek remix album is good (and the If They Move, Kill 'Em EP with the MBV remix on is probably even better, even if it doesn’t strictly count here).
That MBV remix is probably one of my favourite tracks of all time - it’s mind-blowing, like Hendrix’s spirit riffing furiously between stations in a London Underground tunnel. It’s an absolute masterpiece.
I got the single when it came out (one of those that was deleted the same day I think?), felt well indie about it - so indie, I was momentarily saddened to see it on XTRMNTR as it wasn’t my special thing anymore!
Then I thought, don’t be a twat, now non-indie bellends can hear it and in fact you can hear it more as you don’t have to find the single to play it
Weird record, XTMRNTR - includes a remix from the last record (cf Loaded), two mixes of the same single, loads of guest producers, pretty sure Insect Royalty samples horns from Vanishing Point somewhere. Kind of its own remix album
Kraftwerk- the mix is cracking.
True enough, this became a pretty boring exercise.
Love this one.
Casino Classics is fucking brilliant. Tunes that bare very little resemblance to the originals. Like a Motorway by the Chemical Brothers and Cool Kids of Death by Underworld are particular favourites. Need to dig out my vinyl copy.
Blur- Bustin and Dronin
Telegram is great, but this little beauty is even better:
The Underworld mix of Human Behaviour is amazing.
Do dub LPs count? Because there are literally thousands of excellent ones, but I’ll go with Tappa Zukie In Dub
Wrenched Virile Lore is great as well.
Bjork - Bastards is rather good, too.
This one is excellent!
This has three of my fave remixes ever on it.
(It’s Only, Keep Me In My Plane, Bad Kingdom).
Severely underrated round these parts Koze.
Poppy Ackroyd is a modern classical composer and this is a remix album by some of my favorite producers.
Big fan of this - and some great contributors
Once Shazam’d the Vessels remix in a club in Vegas - sounded huge!
