Came here to post this. I have both the original album and the remix album on vinyl now. I love them both like they were my children. I don’t have a favourite.
All this talk of St Etienne and no-one’s mentioned Foxbase Beta?
(I think it’s better than the original…)
Echo Dek
Party mix
Love and Dancing
Yeah, this albums awesome,
The Mary Lattimore and Abul Mogard remix albums that came out about the same time are fantastic too imo.

a few of my old favourites would be
telefon tel aviv - remixes compiled - likes of apparat and nine inch nails
funkstorung - vice versa - notwist, plaid, jean micheal jarre and more
lali puna - I thought I was over that
Jamie XX & Gil Scott Heron - We’re New Here
Really solid record, I think it improves the instrumentals on the original record a lot. Shame the XX became what they are tbh
The Makaya McCraven version of this album from this year is also spectacular. 3 different versions of an album where the original is arguably the weakest.
I came in here specifically to say that. It was the only Cure album I’d heard for many years and I loved it, and was mostly unaware of what the originals sounded like. Not sure why I didn’t immediately go and buy a whole load of their other stuff afterwards. I went insane over the Forest in particular.
