It’s a combo of M&S and Lidl for me. You really can’t beat M&S deli bits.

M+S and Sainsbo as they are the two closest supermarkets.
M+S is obviously better but expensive. Sainsbury’s is just there.
surely M&S are unassailable in this
Waitrose, but you’re missing Co-Op, which ends up being my picky bits destination on a Sunday evening when I can’t be bothered with cooking, and all of the other proper supermarkets are shut. So Co-Op wins for the fact it is open when I need it.
Going to need a picky bits audit but I am not the man to make it.
What picky bits u pickin hun?
For me -
Pork crackling sticks
Meat wrapped cheese - all
Stuffed peppers
when did ‘picky bits’ become a thing
boomer memes
M&S although their picnic game has dramatically decreased in choice in the last 5 years.
Lidl to top up the M&S offering, especially Lidl during Greek Week
i remember the picky bits of my childhood
Morrisons is low key good for this. Second only to M&S
Stuffed olives
Mini vegan sausage rolls
Tortilla Chips
Guacamole
Hummus
Grapes
Carrot sticks
Worst to best:
Asdas
Tesco
Sainsbos
The German halls
Morrisons
Marks
Dolmades rice in vines
Marinated anchovies
Artichokes
Olives
Those incredibly smoky prawns from m&s
Kalamata tapenade with some bread/crackers
A load of torn up proper feta (lidl greek week barrel aged pls)
Preztels
Pistachios
Only ever have a full meal of picky bits (if that’s what we’re calling it) about once a year, when ppl come over to sit in the garden and enjoy a sunny evening but I cba cooking and missing out on all the garden chat. I do like just getting one pot of some kind of antipasti when I’m sad tho, cheers me right up, pairs well with gentle folk music (Rozi Plain, Anaïs Mitchell, the like).
Booths is good for it, but once again the north gets ignored, somebody call Andy Burnham
Yeah the satay sticks, samosas and pakoras available at Mozzers are 10/10 imo
2-3 bottles of wine is ‘‘picky bits’’ in my humble, honest opinion.
Last week I roasted tomatoes in honey and turmeric and put them on leftover garlic bread and then had an orgasm.
This may become a new picnic style staple.
