Best use of sampled dialogue in songs

The Iggy Pop interview in Punk Rock is a classic of the genre

“This band is unstoppable!” in this context might be the most hype thing I’ve ever heard

Just discovered this, not many things bette than adding mathy emo rock to Freaks and Geeks

Does Be Safe count? If so BE SAFE BE SAFE BE SAFE BE SAFE

Not what I was going for but yes, spoken word sections by band member are an acceptable variation

I get up when I want except on Wednesdays when I get rudely awakened by the dustmen

So we laid in bed afterwards and / she asked me
what made me frightened / and I said
"I’‘m frightened of Belgian chocolates / I’‘m frightened of pot pourri
I’‘m frightened of James Dean posters
I’‘m frightened of twenty-six inch screens / I’‘m frightened of remote control
I’‘m frightened of endowment plans / I’‘m frightened of figurines
I’‘m frightened of evenings in the Brincliffe Oaks searching for a conversation."
"Oh you’'re stupid, " she said / and she took my hand
she took my hand and she said / “I want
I want you / I want you to / I want you to touch
I want you to touch me / I want you to touch me.”

surely that’s a proper use of spoken word? your post seems to be more best use of a sample

It’s the gift

Waldo Jeffers head, which split slightly and caused little rhythmic arcs of red
to pulsate gently in the morning sun.

The “dialogue” part was meant to indicate samples rather than just standard spoken word. Was going to say film dialogue but then that would have excluded the Freaks and Geeks one as it’s a TV show … foiled by my own inability to remember the word “sample”, curses!

Okay, I think that covers it?

Just realised I hadn’t read the thread really, but as far as spoken word bits it stands.
Purely for separate samples I would probably go for like all the ones in that boy needs therapy.

Amazing - Oh man, I would love to this! That’s an impressive amount of text to memorise or did you have a lyrics sheet?

I cheated (only found out we were doing it on the night  )
